Good Afternoon Nigel,

A very warm welcome to Rootschat.  Here are the burial details for the people you requested.

Harehills Cemetery

Grave Section F.  Grave Number 48  Grave type Consecrated.

9th April 1928
Burial of of Joseph Marsh aged 77 years.

20th June 1929
Burial of Amy Alice Marsh aged 68 years

Also buried in the same grave is an Alice Ball.

13th November 1959
Burial of Alice Ball aged 70 years.

Grave Section U9.  Grave Number 306.  Grave Type Unconsecrated

31st December 1982
Burial of Charles Frederick Jessey of 3 Potternewton Heights, Leeds 7.  Aged 76 years.

Grave Section U9.  Grave Number 161.  Grave Type Unconsecrated
6th March 1985
Burial of Charles Joseph Jessey of 61 Newton Lodge Drive, Leeds 7.  Aged 23 Years.

I also found the burial of a Donald Jessey so thought I would post the details and you can then decide whether he his part of your Jessey family.

Grave Section Y.  Grave Number 636.  Grave Type Consecrated.

7th July 1933
Burial of Donald Jessey aged 3 months.
Donald is buried alongside a further nine other people all of whom appear unrelated and died in 1933.

There are 47 burials in Harehills Cemetary for the surname Murray but unfortunately not the burial of an Ivy Murray.  There is however the burial of a James Murray in 1978 aged 73 years.  If you think this is the person you are looking for information about, let me know and I will let you have the grave number.

I have also located a photo of the headstone of Joseph and Amy Marsh and also Donald Jessey.

Should you want me to send you copies of these images, you would need to make 2 more posts and then you should be able to send me a message via the private message system.  If you send me your email address via the private message system I will gladly email the images to you.

Please don't post your email address on the public forum.

Best Wishes
CJL

Thank you so much.

The James Murray you mention is the James Murray I'm looking for. However, Ivy should be burried there too. I remember visting her grave as a teenager. Her maiden name is Keighley and she died in 1991.

I was expecting 2 Charles Jesseys but one of them is different. My uncle, is the one who died in 1985 and my Great-Grandad is the one who died in 1982. Just to confuse matters, I'm also looking for a Charles Frederick Jessey ( My Grandad) who died around 2002, again, he should be there, I attended his funeral.

Donald is the brother of my grandad, he died aged 3 months, so yes, I would like any information you can give. Once I can PM you, I will send you my email address.

I am researching the family tree and the chances are that many of the Murrays buried at Harehills are related to me, it's a big family.

Thanks again.

Hi Nigel,

I am wondering whether given how relatively recent (1991 and 2002) these particular burial registers have not yet been transcribed.  If that is the case then even though they are buried in Harehills Cemetery then they would not appear in the database.

If you have any other burials which took place in Leeds, I would be more than happy to take a look for you and post any details I might find.

Best Wishes

Thank you.

I'm sure there will be many more. If I send you my email address, would you be able to send me some pictures and maybe a map of the graveyard, showing the sections? I plan to visit next weekend.
