Looking for information about my ggggrandmother Sarah Ellis who left Killaloe and arrived in Tasmania in 1836. Her father was a 'keeper of boats'.

Do you know the name of Sarah's father?

Griffiths Valuation, which was taken around 1850 lists a Catherine, Joseph and a William Ellis with addresses at The Bank, Shantraud, Killaloe.

Killaloe is a stunning, scenic area and I imagine living near the river bank - even in the mid 1800s - would have been beautiful.  Fresh fish passing your door each day...

Cheers

Killoloe is beautiful however its a long time since I've been there! I think there may be a William in the family but I'm not sure. When I was there I did look at the Parish registers at the Church of Ireland and found a John, William, Stephen and Thomas one of whom could be Sarah's father, however that's the question!!
