I am searching for the birth place and antecedents of William Smart recorded in the Scottish Census of 1861 as being born in County Down. William is recorded as being 27 giving him a dob of abt 1834 he married a Margaret Brown in 1861 and died 1878. His Mother is recorded as being Elizabeth Smart ms Martin she is also recorded in the census as being born in Ireland and a widow. In the record of his death William's father is recorded as also being called William.
