Looking for my Conquers
« on: Wednesday 09 March 11 04:27 GMT (UK) »
I Hope some body can help me. My family "Conquer' lived for the most part in Hertfordshire. before emigrating to Australia where I am in the early 1900's.
I have always thought the Conquers came to England from France Via Scotland (maybe fighting for Scotland along the way.
My Problem; I have Benjamin R Conquer 1877-1942 who came to Australia,
His Father - Benjamin Josiah Conquer 1838-1906 - Wife Martha Bateson - Hemel Hempstead,
His father - Benjamin Conquer 1804-1861 - Sarah L Stephens - Hemel Hempstead,
His father - John Conquer 1780 1837 - Sarah Campion - Hemel Hempstead,
His father - Richard Conquer bef 1755? - Hannah Rogers - Hertford,
I believe His Father was  John Conquer (bef 1735?) (wife Elizabeth unknown) but I don't know where he came from, I think Scotland.

Any help would be greatfully received.

Kind regards, Shane Conquer.

Hi Shane

Just adding the link to a previous thread by another member on the Conquer family to avoid duplication on searches www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,184815.0.html

Thanks Monica,

I have already put a post on that thread and thought I might put it on the Hertfordshire line in hope that someone might know something from there.
