Hi & welcome to RootsChat

There is a birth registration for

Minnie May Stagg  1906  Apr-May-Jun Wandsworth  Vol 1d  Page 741

It might be worth investing in the birth certificate as this should show her parents names in full.

It looks as though this was a second marriage for one of the parents, about 1899

on my nans birth certificate the name of her father is william george stagg deceased,  in fact he died in 1893 and she was born in 1905.

Hmmm, look like a tricky bunch!  What do you think about this lot on the 1891 census at Corporation Street, Islington at  RG12; Piece: 162; Folio 141; Page 25

There's a daughter called Mary A born in Deptford, an unspecified 'relation' called William G Stagg and a couple of grandaughter's - could this be Hannah Stagg's birth?

Births Dec 1883
Bligh  Maud Hannah     Pancras  1b 99

Edit:  Yes, that's them - in 1881 Charles and Hannah Bligh are living next door to John and Eliza Ellis with Charles Bligh junior shown as John Ellis's brother in law.  So I think John Ellis was actually Mary Ann Stagg's brother in law, not her brother.

Hi
Welcome to Rootschat :D

Hmm mysterious... I wonder if Mary Ann Stagg (presumably nee Ellis) set up home with William's brother S Stagg? Who may or may not have been your Nan's father.

Jan ;)
