SHARP and JAMES, Lanchester.

I am researching Samuel JAMES, b. around 1823 in Lambeth, Surrey.  He was  the son of William James and Hannah Weedon, who was my great x 3 grandaunt.

I was surprised to find Samuel James b. Lambeth on the 1851 and 1861 Census for Lanchester!
The household in 1861 is as follows:
George Sharp aged 71 unmarried - shoemaker - head of household b. Lanchester
William Sharp aged 65 unmarried - shoemaker - brother b. Lanchester
SAMUEL JAMES aged 41 unmarried - shoemaker - NEPHEW b. Lambeth

In 1851 the household is the same except that Samuel's d.o.b works out at 1824 (in the 61 census it's a couple of years out).

Samuel James died in Lanchester in September 1888 aged 65.

I can't find any marriages between Sharps and James's or Weedons and I guess that this is a false trail, but it's a huge coincidence that there should be a Samuel James of the right age and born in Lambeth, living so far from home.

Can anyone help me solve this puzzle?

Samuel James and his sister Eliza,both baptised the same day, ,father William a blacksmith deceased and Hannah of Vauxhall walk ,Lambeth St Marys,22nd of August 1824.

I think there must be two families with the same names mixed up in Lambeth.
Samuel is a recurring Christian name in Hannah's family but I guess it's back to the drawing board to see if I can sort them out.
The William James I have was a tailor and is on the 1851 census aged 62.

Samuel Sharp and Margaret Ridley had the following children Lanchester,

Hannah 22 March 1801,
Elizabeth,27 th of October 1793,
William 13 th of March 1793,
George,23 rd of May  1790,

I read your request earlier today and found it very interesting.  Samuel was a journeyman cordwainer in Lanchester living with the Sharp(e) family. Later this afternoon I was searching on Durham Record Office www.durham.gov.uk/recordoffice for something totally unrelated and came across Samuel James and George Sharp in relation to land in Lanchester under the title " Copyhold land at Summerhill purchased by John Fawcett in 1880.  It mentions George Sharp and Samuel James ref D/X 1207/1/433. Makes interesting reading.

The will of William Sharp late of the summer Hill in the parish of Lanchester in the county of Durham,shoemaker who died 5Th of July 1877 at Summer Hill was proved at Durham by Samuel James of Summer Hill shoemaker the nephew the sole executor

looking at George and William in the 1841 census it looks like they have a 15 year old Samuel Sharp with them ,

Thanks to everyone who took the trouble to reply.
I've been given some more info which suggests that George and William had a sister Elizabeth who married a James.  This would be the connection betwen the two surnames.
Maybe, going on Radcliff's posting, Samuel was orphaned and was sent back up north to live with his remaining relations who took him in and taught him their trade.
In any event,  the William James who interests me was born and married in St. Albans, was certainly alive in 1851 and was a tailor by trade, so I am pretty sure it's the wrong James family.
