Watson and Crowe

James Watson born 1827 died Jan/mar 1915, have no marriage for him, had a son also named James, but I cannot find a birth for James junior. On 1911 census he gives his age as 47. Married Ellen Crowe DofB 04 01 1861 on 25 02 1882. James junior died 30 12 26.  Baptisms, marriages and burials all took place at Christ Church, Derriaghy.

I have found some ancestors on Family Search, especially Crowe's, But this Watson has me beat. Can anyone help please.

hi flower my dad was david watson mother mary "may" nee rice .am new at this computer lark only been at it a few weeks.tony was the only one of his side of the family i knew he called at our house regulary and we visited the dami am assuming your mother was one of tonys sisters though i never knew them .i came accross you by chance was surprised lagmore dam was of intrest.i left derriaghy when i was 20 brother still lives there and a sister in lisburn

Good to hear from you again. Sorry I don't remember your dad. Where did he and your mother live? I spent my earliest years at and near the Dam, it was my childhood playground.
I have your dad's birth year as 1897, is that correct?
Go to page 8 on here and find "missing birth cert. for Watson".

thanks flower jan 1897 is dads birth date we lived al around derriaghy i was born at upper falls we then lived ballybog, mosside ,barnfield road,and milltown .sorry i am still trying to find my way around these pages was,nt able to get page 8 dont know how to really new to computers .its quite possible we may have seen each other at the dam in our younger days ,always remember the big daisy,s around the dam funny the things we remember

Have heard a rumour that James Watson may have been born in Scotland, which would explain why I can't find him.
Do any rootschatters have access to a Scotland site and could they do a lookup for me. Don't know where in Scotland, but DofB would be 1861/2/. He was 47 in 1911 census. His father was also James. Mother unknown. Fathers birth was 1827.
Help would be much appreciated.

I grew up on the Barnfield Road and spent my early years travelling around horse sales with my dad's best friend - Tony Watson, caretaker of Lagmore Dam.  I know he died in the late 70's, and I left the area in the late 80's.
