The 1891 Census has Job and Julia Page living in Manchester (England). Julia and some of the children are shown as being born in Kilcullen, Co. Kildare.

Job aka Joseph, was in the army in the mid 1800's. I'm pretty sure Julia was his only wife and possibly married in the Kilcullen area. Family Search has a birth of John Page, 29 Jan 1876-'Halverstown'. Should this be Calverstown? If so, this is probably my John Page.

Second, was there an army camp in this area in the mid 1800's?

And lastly, can anyone find a marriage for this couple, probably arond 1863/65?
      Job (or Joseph) Page and Julia-possibly Bryan or Bryant.

Hi - I used to live in Kilcullen.  There is an area called Halverstown - its outside kilcullen on the Carlow road. Halverstown and Calverstown are not far from each other.

Kilcullen is only a few miles from the curragh of kildare which is home to an army barracks The Curragh Camp - not sure when it was established but could have been there at the time.

I know the library in Newbridge, Co Kildare (about 6 miles from Kilcullen) does a lot of work in this area  - I think they have some association with the Irish Family History web site.

The townland of Halverstown in the district of Nass and nearby Calverstown townland and Demesne, seem to be located in the civil registration district of Athy.

There are two possible siblings of John on the extracted records :

 Parents : Joseph Page / Julia Brien

 Name: James Page
 Birth date: 05 May 1878
 Birthplace: Newbridge, Kildare
 Parents : Joseph Page / Julia Bryant

I dont see any likely marriages for for Joseph and Julia - maybe they married before the start of full civil registration... what's the age of their eldest child ?

The Curragh Camp in the area makes sense of the army connection

I'd picked up on the entries you mentioned. These seem to fit in well with the 1891 Census entry-too many coincidences to be anything else. Just leaves the question of the marriage, which I'm sure must have been in the area.

I did find a marriage of a Julia Bryan-1864-Cellbridge reg. district. (Wherever that is). Coincidence?
 The eldest child that I've found to date was born in 1867, but in India. I think he may have been in Ireland before he went there. That makes me think he would have been married abt 1863/65.

I found a marriage in Kilcullen, dated 27 October 1865 between;

Joseph Page, no address given, RC, Soldier - Father also Joseph Page
Julia Brien, Kilcullen, RC - Father John Brien

Witnesses were James Brien and Sarah Brien

I think you've cracked it

It all fits. His father was Joseph and if RC means Roman Catholic- I think they were in later life. He was def a soldier and the date fits very nicely. Her father was John and their first 2 sons were Joseph and John.

I think you've just solved the Irish connection.
