Just woke up to this. Have emailed my relative in ChCH, not heard back so far. He'd had a heart attack just before the last one, and had been told by the Dr he must avoid stress   ::)  Hope he's ok.

Hope you're all ok too and this is the worst of it.

Best wishes to all,
Ann

I hope you have an OK night Suzy and that the children settle. Really dark now and pretty rough for those without homes to go to at the moment and camping in the park ... and the lack of power etc etc ... did notice early on today that those evacuating were dressed for cooler weather and now the rain has started to make it more miserable. Praying that the rescuers make some progress overnight with those trapped, dreading to hear what the news will be with the death toll expected to rise  :'( ... a dark day... been listening/watching non stop for 8 hours now, bad enough, can't imagine how terrifying and shocking for all those affected down there...

A sad day indeed for many in Canterbury, pleased to see many fellow RCer's are ok down there.

Our neighbours across the ditch are on the way to help out with search and rescue efforts.

Thinking of you all

I've never been so angry..........   >:( >:(

Just been on our news Ch7, Kay McGrath was having a live interview with a poor woman who was trapped...........  the questions asked made my blood boil.    "Tell us your thoughts......."    "How do you feel about.............."

THE WOMAN'S TRAPPED FOR GOODNESS SAKE.    I thought it was sick.

Some of the questions they come out with ....... wonder where they got their interviewing skills from.
