Lost for words.  Just a feeling of helplessness.
Phone calls are coming from all over the world to me.  All thanks to genealogy, I have extended family whom I have never met.
Yes 65 confirmed dead, and will rise by the sounds of things.

A lot of them will be out there in the cold tonight, not enough blankets, some have tarpaulins, some will be sleeping on boards.  Shortage of food and water. :'(

The whole nation has pulled together to help.    Aussies will be arriving about midnight.

Absolutely horrified and shocked, here!  I hope all our NZ RC-ers are okay - the images on telly are terrifying.  Keep in touch, please, if you can, we feel so helpless over here ... the ANZAC spirit will kick in, and you know we'll help wherever we can, if at all we can.
