Thanks both of you, just looking at that link Mare, thanks.

No, not a lot of specific information about the area online. Will keep looking though.

Just read that piece by Michael Guerin.     Really starts to paint a picture  :'(

And the aerial photos  :(

Where is the damaged glacier? and what will that result in?

You probably know that Google maps have started mapping the affected area.

Just thought I'd mention it.

My heart just sunk with seeing the damage.

Lyttelton is a mess, homes gone, Time Ball Station not likely to be ever fixed, roads with slips, tunnel closed, the list goes on and on.

And our Cathedral I just cried.

Seems like a outer body experience, here we are living 10 minutes from the city centre all safe watching in horror on T.V, and other people are going through hell.

Little sleep last night and still getting aftershocks.  These aftershocks are very different to Septembers,  rolling not shaking, you can see your home move in a circle motion.

And far too many to add

... the aftershocks sound dreadful Suzy!! ... slowing down rescue of course but heartwarming to hear of the small miracles amongst the tragedy ... are the children worried about their schoolmates as well? ... wondered how you fared during the darkness ... (( hugs ))  :-* mare
