Hi Spades
I know one way to find that info, I was in process of checking some posible at the time
this new eroll search at A$ry is a gem
if you have not so common names you can just enter first names and then work though options...The answer was on the first page of results

Bye

Hi Maria

Happy to have been able to help.

Your story struck a chord with me - my Gran also "sailed off into the sunset" leaving in her wake, two tiny babies.  After decades of searching, I finally discovered her fate just six months ago.   She'd lived to the ripe old age of 92 but had been abandoned in a nursing home here, after the children of her second family, had shot through to live in Australia.  :-X

I do hope that finding your Daphne has helped to ease some of the heartache your Dad, his brothers and your family have endured.   :)

Kind wishes
~  Lu

I ordered the death certificate for Daphne last week, hopefully it will arrive this week and we get the answer we have been looking for and we can let the rest of her sons know what happened to her. I will post the outcome of the certificate here when it arrives.

Here is the latest update, received Death Certificate from New Zealand, no information regarding parents on it but have found her burial location (Cremated), we have since found a nephew and he has put us in contact with a lady who knew Daphne for many years, the verbal descriptions of Dapne match so we have sent over some photo's for confirmation, so now we are waiting in anticipation.  :)

More updates to follow

Hi all, this should be the final update to this story, but I don't think it will be, we have had photo confirmation that this Daphne is the same Daphne that went missing in the 1940s, All her living children that we have contacted are thrilled that she has been found, even bringing one family member to tears (happy tears). thanks to everyone on this board and especially Lucy

Thank You

Maria  :)
