Could anybody help?
Sarah Jones, was sent to Widnes,to a family connection named Platt, by her family for a 6 week holiday when she was 6 years old, but she never went home, so she stayed and later married and only returned to Wales with her children John,Eric and husband James Price, on holiday.Her father was a fisherman and lived within the walls of the castle ( jackdaws), the house was situated on the right side of the road before the arch exit of the castle near the back of the Liverpool Arms.

Please help if you can.

Can you tell us what kind of help or information you need for Sarah Jones?     I see from the 1901 census with the Platt family in Widnes she is stated to be 9 years of age with what looks like a brother Llewelyn Jones age 4.   

Do you have Sarah's father's name from her marriage certificate to James Price?

Hello Kevin,

There are a few possible birth registrations for Sarah Jones on North Wales BMD. Based on her age of 9 years in the 1901 census, she would have been born about 1892.

There is a birth registered for Sarah Mary Jones in Conwy in 1892, reference CONWY/16/4.

There are other births registered in 1891, for Sarah Jones, reference CONWY/15/32 and Sarah Ann Jones in 1894, reference CONWY/16/58.

The registers are held by Conwy County Borough Council in Llandudno.

There are two births registered in Conwy for Llewelyn Jones in 1896. I suspect one of these will be her brother.

Do you know the family connection between the Jones and Platt? Was it by marriage between the two families?

My Gran was 88yrs old when she died in 1982, so she could have been born in 1894 and on the 1901 census, her father's name is either James or John, i know she had another brother named Jack, who married and had a couple of sons. I know that Margret Platt, was born in Conwy as it is stated in the 1911 census and she is aged 58yrs old, her husband is 50yrs old.
She had a sister named Edi May and a niece named Blanche.
She also had family in Dolgarrog,Colwyn Bay.
