Further to 2 Sarah Anns, one was born Lutterworth 1851, the other (Blaksley) 1852 Leicester. From 1901 census she was born Leicester so that makes Sarah Ann and Joseph 1st cousins. His parents were Charles Blaksley and Ann Webster, Sarahs were Nathaniel Blaksley and Martha Coe.For some reason one branch was Blaksley the other evolved as Blakesley from  3 generations before.

Thanks Geebeetas - I think we had worked out that Joseph had married his cousin after Emma died, though had not sent for a certificate to prove it. I have been lacking much info for Markfield, so could only assume Charles and Nathaniel were brothers - there is also a Henry of similar age. According to Nathaniel's marriage, his father was Joseph - there was also a George in Markfield of suitable age.
It was only when I started searching through records that the spelling differences came up - I had always known my Gran's name  as Blakesley - Charles and his family seemed to add the "e" after 1851.
My only knowledge of burials is what Mike came up with in the previous post, and my Gran - Ada Elizabeth Yates (nee Blakesley) - is buried behind the Baptist Church in Woodhouse Eaves with her husband. I always assumed the Baptist bit came from her (it usually does doesn't it?).
I would be very interested in your Blakesley research, as I know nothing prior to Charles, and as I posted earlier we have this book of photographs which I think was my gran's, but can't identify who they are.

Greetings RRYFS,

I came across an entry of yours in a random search and was much surprised. My father, Richard, was the US serviceman you spoke of that visited your parents. I met your parents when my ship was in Southhampton in 1978.

I tried to send you a personal contact, but as I quickly registered on this site this afternoon, I could not get that function to operate.

Please contact me as I have significant amount of Burchnall/Yates information to share.

Regards,
Richard

Hi Marines7566

You must be Rich then. When my father died, I was not sure what happened to addresses, so was unable to make contact - I had an idea you were in Florida, so tried googling a couple of times, but didn't find you!
The PM function only operates when you have made 3 posts, so if you reply to this and then post once more, I can send you a message with my e-mail - we are not allowed to post e-mail addresses in threads. Since getting interested in family research, I have added quite a lot to the family tree which your father and mine produced.

Yes, I am Richard. I was in Florida in early 1990s.  Very interested in communicating with you.  Might have some insight to the Coleman connection for you.
