Not much help in finding John/Michael, however some hints which may help you find the birthplace of Catherine.

Posting these for our interest as they would appear to belong to your family:

Deaths, Victoria

Mark Austin CLERY, 85
Died at Sbla, Victoria
1984 #00609
Father's Name:    Charles
Mother's Name:    Catherine

Catherine Clery, 82
Died at; St Kilda, Victoria
1955, #8514
Father's Name: Austin

This lady's death date gives an approximate birth date of 1873 which may help find her birth.

There are also some index entries for births of children of  Charles and Catherine which should give her birthplace.

Did the Michael CLERY that you are looking for ever come to Australia?

Thanks for answering this . I have this information but on thr marriage certificate it is extremley hard to read where William austin was born and the name if his Mother. So Im hoping someone maybe able to help me .

Have you thought of seeking help with the parts of the cert that are difficult to read?  You may like to post them here.  Please only post sections of the cert as the full cert is not permitted.

I did look previously but re-checked...there is no birth for a Catherine AUSTIN in Victoria c1873

William AUSTIN and Ann MURPHY had nine children whose births were registered between 1855 and 1871.  Seven of these children died between 1856 and 1876.  Two of the registrations  has William noted as William Axe AUSTIN.

Someone looking for William AUSTIN of Liverpool in 1854
http://www.rootschat.com/links/0c57/

There is a file on PROV Wills index for William AUSTIN, Contractor of Nott Street, Port Melbourne, who died in 1898 leaving his assets to his wife Ann.
http://www.prov.vic.gov.au/indexes/index_search.asp?searchid=54

Death
AUSTIN William
Father Austin William  Mother Mary NOLAN
61 years at Port Melbourne  1898  Reg#4265

His death certificate should list all the children of the marriage with Ann MURPHY ie if it is the correct Wm AUSTIN :)

Cheers  :)

Thanks for the information my GF is Mark . William Austin and Ann Murphy were married at ST Mary Catholic  church Geelong 1855. They had nine children born between 1855 and 1871. The second child of Catherine and Charles died in NSW., she was 6mth old. I read today on someone else post that Catherine was adopted but not sure how to find this site. Which of Catherine Children is your line.

Hi

I have some info regarding the ancestors of Mark Francis Clery, who committed suicide in Sandridge, his connection to Clery's of Dublin and beyond. He is in my family's maternal line. Let me know where I can be in touch as email would be better for me.

Regards,

Damian
