John Henry Harber Staffordshire

Hey
I am looking for any information on John Henry Harber born 1887 Willenhall, Staffordshire
He married Lily Russell Dec 1907 in Gwent, Monmouthshire. He died in 1945 in Pontypool, Wales.

in case you do not have it there are 2 children with surname harber mothers maiden name russell

on his death index in 1945 his age is down as 57
but i can find no birth in staffs between 1884-1890 of a john harber
the nearest one is a john henry harber born birmingham 1890

There is a John Henry Harber born 1884 Birmingham but it looks likes he died 1909 Aston

Do you have his marriage certificate? if so what is his fathers name

It might be your best bet to get a copy of the marriage certificate at least it will give you his fathers name Dec 1907 Pontypool 11a 293

On FreeBMD he is just listed as John Harber

Gimli74. Late to the Party here and the party may be over by now,  however John Henry Harber is my great grandfather's half brother. See extract from GRO, re his birth.


HERBERT, JOHN  HENRY       Mother's Maiden name: PERRY   
GRO Reference: 1886  J Quarter in WESTBROMWICH  Volume 06B  Page 898 

His father alternated surnames between Herbert and Harber. When he married my great great grandmother Eliza Jane Perry Tracey, he called himself Harber. My great great grandmother was still married to her first husband, I believe, hence the possible explanation for use of different surnames, particularly on the British Census.
