Can anyone decifer this please?
« on: Wednesday 20 April 05 13:00 BST (UK) »
I am having great difficulty reading William's Rank or Profession.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

This is the first time I have posted an image so I hope it works.

My first impression is that it's oilman. I've come across it with some of my family.

Sorry I can't sharpen the image - no software at work.

I thought it looked like a D rather than an O?

I can't produce a sharp image either, but is that another skinny 'o' in Bermondsey above and slightly to the right of Rank & profession? The second letter definitely seems to have a dot.
