Thanks Forfarian and Ayresa1 !
I now have the photo I was after , Relugas House 1878, printed , and am just today am putting it into my family heritage scrapbook I am very happy with the quality of the scan. If and when I get to visit Scotland, Relugas estate is definitely on my list !!
Ayresa... that is so neat your ancestor worked there too in the gardens! And I now know what that tower is ! thanks. A clocktower ... is it near a stone bridge? I am trying to get an overall idea of the estate . I did glean some modern pics off the internet of the present house and one does show the clocktower. In my 1878 photo, I can just see what looks like a stone railing maybe on a bridge. The clocktower is not visible, obscured by trees from the vantage point of the photographer. Did you take pics when there? I would be very interested in what you found there !
If anyone is interested in this 1878 photo I am willing to share, (I paid enough for it !!) , Contact me and I can email it. (*) It is too large of a file to post here.
Thanks again all, Heather
