Horn Family from Malahide

I have only just this morning discovered a possible link to this family and as I've never had cause to research Irish records before i thought this would be the best place to start.
I have a Drusilla Horn on the 1841 census in Dorset aged 13, her birthplace is Ireland.  On subsequent census returns she is married to James Smith and her birthplace is sometimes transcribed as Malahill or Malahide.  I have done a lot of googling this morning with no success and wondered if anyone would be able to point me in the right direction as to where to look next for her birth and her parents and further back....do her family originate from there or elsewhere in Ireland?

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Malahide is a village is north Co. Dublin.

Do you know what religion your Horn family were ?

Thank you for your quick reply.

Unfortunately the only piece of information I am armed with is her name and rough year of birth (about 1828ish) if she was 13 as stated on the 1841 census.  She was with her brother George in 1841 in Dorset, they were live-in servants.

Church of Ireland baptism records for the parish of Malahide go back to 1822, marriages to 1825 and death/burials to 1822. The records are not currently included in either the IrishGenealogy or RootsIreland websites, but are available in the Representative Church Body Library.

Catholic records for the parish of Malahide only go back to 1856

My guess due to the surname is that the family may be non-Catholic.

as far as I know, Malahide was part of Swords RC parish before becoming a parish in its own right.

I agree, Horn sounds more like a CofI name

I'd read that, but forgotten about it...

Swords RC records got back to 1763

Thank you for your replies, it has certainly given me some more ideas about where to look for further information.

I forgot to add that with regards to religion, certainly her Grandchildren and Gt Grandchildren went to Baptist and Salvation Army churches so it doesn't lean towards her being Catholic-but you never know.  Thanks again. SBW
