Another set back with the aftershocks last night.  Schools have to be checked again!  So our wonderful headmaster has started a online school, what a brilliant idea. ;D  Now is trying to get my 10 year old to do it >:(

My poor garden is suffering with the lack of water, and these hot days just are not helping.  I had to water the vegetable patch yesterday, I still have food we are eating out of there.

Si and Garry are back on the radio, both men lost their homes in the quake, real troopers coming back.  And so good to hear familiar voices along with their jokes and banter.

Sounds as if they pulled out a number of bodies last night, and made good work on recovering bodies in the Cathedral.

The funeral directors are having a very busy time, and by the sounds of things a number of them have had deaths in their own families.  They are having a bad time dealing with the state of the bodies and their own grief.  They need a pat on the back for their work in such times.

Janette I have to say its not just Canterbury folk working in Christchurch, John was with the 'farmy army' yesterday and there were many many farmers from all over NZ that had jumped on planes to come down and help,(not just farmers either) its the whole of NZ pulling together and off course our Australian friends as well. :)

The ANZAC tradition was forged many moons ago and long may it last.  We may be our biggest rivals at times but we are really extensions of the other.  Like the others, much of the news has disappeared from our TVs. This is a wonderful forum to follow what must be horrendous.  My thoughts are with you all.  :-* :-*

Good to hear how the whole nation (and those nearby) are pulling together.

Very moving and heartwarming.

Just reading our local rag, a couple of youngsters are staying with relatives out near us, and attending a small rural school, which they say, they are loving, as it isn't so cramped as a large school.   It usually took them 2 hours a day with changing buses etc to get to their normal school and now only have five minutes walk. :D

Our local market gardeners have also donated a lot of vegetables.
