The old adage "it never rains but it pours" seems very apt.

Hope things settle down for everyone very soon.    These shocks can't be helping the rescue teams very much, they can't leave the area after all.

One comment I must make regarding science and predictions.
Some very long-gone well revered persons in the works of science etc were, in their time, ridiculed or called charlatans.
So....   what tales will future generations tell?

Hope your mouth is improving Suzy.  Wouldn't like to try some of those cures :P

Just a mention -

the ad I'm seeing on this page is asking "have you been injured - how much could you claim?"

UK company.  ::)

I pop in here most mornings for an update on how you are all coping
I still think you are very strong
and my prayers go with you all out there in New Zealand

As you say is it never going to end
There has been nothing on our TV news tonight
All we are getting is Lybia

It is in turmoil over there and I suppose we have still people out there needing help too

Sadly Elizabeth that is the way the news works.  Never heard much more about the people of Haiti, Samoa, Queensland, Pakistan whom all have suffered over the last 12 months with natural disasters.
We will become old news very quickly, even while we are still trying to cope with the clean up and recovery of bodies.

Hi folk,

I am safe and well. We just had power come back on yesterday and still no water or toilet facilities. I am off to stay with a friend in Hamilton tomorrow for about 2 weeks I think but could be longer. I may stay in Auckland as well with my cousin in Onehunga after the 14 march. My job is no more as building came down. So will have to look for another one when I come back.

I was on way to archives when it hit. Lucky the bus was no crushed at all

Great to hear you are safe and well.  Lucky you were not at work.
Now we have those high winds, just a real hazard for those people helping.
My sister was also talking about Hamilton this morning, she was going to Queenstown but at a total loss on what to do.

Good to see that you have come online Newbe.   A break will do you good after what you have endured lately.  Keep us posted on your activities.
