Does anyone have any information on my great grandmorther Kate McGowan?
She was born abt 1874 in Lancashire. She is listed on the Irish Census 1911 at 5 Eden, Meluin, Leitrim.
She married a Patrick Feely who was originally from Co. Fermanagh, Ireland.  Marriage abt 1902 but not sure if in Eng or Ire.
Their children are as follows:
7 children - Catherine (B: 06/07/1906 M: Boden D: 01/02/1980), John, Michael, Patrick, Francis, James and Mary (B:03/06/1904 M: Surkitt D: 2...6/05/1971). Mary and Catherine were both in Eden, Ireland but they married and had families in England.
This is about all I know...can anyone assist me in finding out more?
Many thanks
Feely / McGowan / Brodie / McLeman

Here's the family in the 1911 Census- Eden is the townland and '5' is the number of the house enumerated in that townland on that census.

This might be Patrick in the 1901 census-

I can't find the marriage in FreeBMD (England) but the Irish civil registration index is online (also free). Can't see marriage for a Patrick Feely c1902 in Fermanagh or Leitrim- did search for anywhere in Ireland but can't find a Feely/McGowan match.

Perhaps someone else will be able to find the marriage  :-\
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Dear Aghadowey,
Thank you for the information you posted for both Kate McGowan and Patrick Feely; it is most appreciated.
I have only recently started researching my family history and all information is invaluable.  I have a lot of work to do!
I think I have a lead on the marriage on the ancestry website - another very kind person sharing their knowledge and expertise!
Thank you for your kind assistance.
