Rebecca Fenn 1860
« on: Friday 25 February 11 16:44 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking for any information on Rebecca Fenn born 1860 Warwickshire , parents  James Fenn and Elizabeth nee Lawrence. In 1891 she was working as a cook for the Green family, one of the son's was Fred W E Green a physician later to be known as W Eldridge- Green inventor of lantern to determine colour blindness.I believe the family moved to South Africa after 1891.In 1902 Sarah's nephew W J Taylor was enquiring of her whereabouts. She returned to England at least once in 1934(found on a passenger list).
When and where did she die? Did she go back to South Africa? Any will?Where would i find it?
Help!!!!

Hi Daisy

If she left a valid will which was proved after her death, it should be recorded as a Grant of Probate in the calendars held at the Principal Registry at Holborn. The calendars are sorted by the year the Grant was proved, not alphabetically, so you'll need her date of death before you can start searching.
