Hi Robyn Aussie death certificates usually give place of birth details. You might want to try this line of research.

Hi Shirley :)

That's a good idea, thank you, I'll look into it!! :D  I haven't looked into her death certificate yet but I've emailed the Durham County Library asking for a list of census entries searchable by name.  They've come back with 2 entries that would most likely fit, however, neither are right.  They have the wrong parents ... sigh!!  I don't think she's going to be an easy one to find thanks to her name.  Oh the joys of genealogy!! ;D

I think the ggGrandfather should read William Edward Beynon. There was a mis spelling some years ago in a document hence all later relatives are Bynon. William Edward Beynon was born in Rhandir, Llanelli, Sir Gaerfyrddin, Wales.

I believe Elizabeth Armstrong was born 14th May 1848 in Benfieldside, Durham, England.

Try 1861 census  Armstrong living at Mounces Knowe, Falstone, Northumberland. Elizabeth may be the aunt of my Great Grandmother
