McClure family of Isle of Whithorn
« on: Friday 25 February 11 05:15 GMT (UK) »
Hi All

Any help in locating dates of birth, marriage or death for John McClure and Agnes Fraser of Isle of Whithorn c1790's would be greatly appreciated.  I have come to a bit of standstill trying to get past these.

Their children as known to me are:

Alexander (abt 1791-1876) married Catherine Cumming (abt 1798-1890)
David (abt 1795-1872) married Jane Shennan (abt 1797-1855)
John (abt 1796-?) married Mary Donnan (abt 1791-?)
Elizabeth (1806-1891) married John Paterson (abt 1803-1867)

Would appreciate any help you can give!!

Have you checked here http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~leighann/wfp/intro.html - Wigtownshire Free Press Newspaper for any possible mentions?

Hi Monica - yes I had checked that site out.  Unfortunately, they are after the 1790's which is the period John and Agnes had their children in the Isle.

Druid56 - Unfortunately I do not have the names of those individuals you mentioned in my tree.  However, I do have the below in my tree - are any of these a part of your line?

Mongomrie Kerr (1794-1860) married Jane Laidlaw (1795-1873).  The only child I have listed for them thus far is:  Margaret Montgomrie (1822-1845).

Margaret married John McMickan (?-1861, son of Nathaniel McMaickan (1781-?) and Elizabeth Milroy (1791-1855).

Regards
Janine
