Hi Tramroad, have you had any luck with your George Poole?  Did you manage to make contact with the suggested person from Ancestry?  Let us know how you got on.

Hello Tramroad.  I owe you a huge apology.  The George Poole, born 1858, Barnsley I was looking at had the parents Abraham Bolton & Jane Collier Poole - that is why I gave you all those other details.  Lordy, I haven't half sent you on a wild goose chase.  My sincere apologies.  The death details supplied by dobfarm does look the closest.  I had seen that before, but because I was chasing thw wrong man etc etc.  So very sorry Tramroad.

I had a look at the free BMD's GRO index for England and Wales and there is one George Poole death born 1858 Just out side your dates given but it in London area of West Ham
http://www.freebmd.org.uk/
Deaths Sep 1880
 POOLE  George  aged 22  W.Ham  4a 5
This is the only one near your dates given.

Hello,
there is a George Poole b 1858 living in WestHam in 1871  :-\

Tramroad,
If your George was born 1858 and could have been married and died by 1875, he would have been very young at marriage.
Do you have his marriage certificate?
Did his wife remarry in Keighley?

regards
heywood

Hello again,
I can see it now. I was looking for a marriage for Emily Poole. Did she marry as a widow ?
I wondered that as she married in her maiden name, and as there is no apparent death of George, they may just have split up. However, there is no record of him  :-\
