Battle

Looking for info on a John Battle born 1817 in Sligo/Mayo boarder, his brother was Martin born 1811, they had moved to Leeds by 1851. (possibly linked to a place called Enniscrone, near Ballina)

Any information on the Battle family name from Mayo area, about that time would also be appreciated.

Hi Sharon, On my research trail for McDermott and Boland in Enniscrone, I took some photos in the cemetery, which is just outside Enniscrone, the following Battle stones are there, Martin Battle 1906-1926,Dan Battle of Tullylin died 23rd Feb 1937 aged 74 years his wif Catherine died 14th Oct 1947John Battle (Muingwar died 15th Aug 1882 his wife Kathleen died 20th Dec 1887 there is also a stone for a Martin,Owen and Maria Battle, but the dates are not very clear, hope this helps you someone, there is also a site, I can't quite remember the exact address, but I am sure if you type in Castleconnor records , you will get some Battle names, I hope this is of some help

I found these 2 Battles in the 1824 Tithe records for Easky
Edward Battle, Castletown, Easky
Roger Battle, Quique Howly (believe this is the Landlord)

Also found these battles in the Castleconnor parish, Co. Sligo, close to Easky

I'm a descendant of the Battles line.
Michael and Julia Battles.
I believe Michael is a descendants of the 3 brothera Owen, Patrick and James whom we are branch of from.
Apparently Patrick and Owen fought in Court over something.
