It's more likely that records in the USA will have details of emigrants than in Stockton so I'd try a board over there.
In the UK records would be more likely found related to the port they left from rather than the village or town which they left.
When trains came in then it was easier for people to travel to places like Liverpool to get on a ship but around 1700 they more likely took a ship from a local port - Whitby, Hartlepool, Sunderland, Newcastle. They might have got a ride to London on a coal ship and then transferred.
I forget where but there is online a good record of people leaving Bristol about this time as indentured servants to work on the plantations of Virginia etc. Not likely to have included your family though.
