Hello Sicknote,

Is this a possibility - Monongahela, Washington, Pennsylvania in 1930. John could have been married before but the ages at marriage don't add up  ???

John Sowers 75 Born Pennsylvania. Married at 70 years. Launderer. Cleaning Dept. Owns Home $3000
Margaret Sowers 51 Born Scotland. Married at 40 years. Immigrated 1901 NA

Hello Sicknote,

Not finding Elizabeth I'm afraid - looking at the SSDI Index - there are 8 Elizabeth's with that birth date, where it was issued in Pennsyvania but no way of telling which one might be her.
There is no BMD Index to check for Pennsylvania deaths.  There is a public library in Monongahela with an "Ask Here" option - says its a free service to residents !!  Wonder if it would be worth an e-mail anyway - just to see if some kind soul could find any records for you  or point you in a direction ?

Regards
Sandra

I found an article from 13 Jan. 1933 that said that John Sowers, age 78 of Monongahela, committed suicide.  It said he had been in ill health.  His wife Margaret, a sister, and a brother were the only survivors mentioned.
