Irish Marriages
« on: Saturday 19 February 11 11:13 GMT (UK) »
I have used the wife's first name while researching the marriage and have been able to link a maiden name to the fore name  through the Vol No. & Page No & date that match the husband's.
However  my latest effort searching for a Sarah & a Robert Truesdale married about 1883-4 in Down Ireland has confused me as I was able to match a Vol No. & Page N0 for a Sarah  married in Banbridge  and a Robert Truesdale married in Banbridge but the dates are different one is first quarter 1883 & the other in third quarter 1884.
My question is what time frame do a Page & Vol No. span is it more than 1 year
Still learning

As far as I know, a page has either 2 or 4 marriages on it.
Both parties will be on the same page.

Thanks eadaoin
I have viewed pages with 4 names as the limit on them,
I think I have the right person as the vol & page Numbers match to both parties only the dates are wrong and may be an error

Hi kingskerswell
Thanks for you help  the Robert Truesdale I am after was married to a Sarah Louisa,
They were buried in the Church of Ireland church in Castlewellan, I was able to find the family in the 1901 & 1911 census in Clarkill, Castlewellan. the only Sarah that I found may match was Sarah Stretton
as their family started in 1885 I would expect the marriage to be about 1883-84.
The marriage of Sarah Stretton and the marriage of a Robert Truesdale has the same Vol Number & Page Number and both Banbridge but different dates.
Their headstone lists Roberts mother, Robert, his wife Sarah Louisa, and some of their children.
The war grave memorial for their son William justs lists his parents as Robert & Sarah Truesdale
Montgomery, Truesdale, Hazzlett, Bell, Bassett, Jones, Hazzard. Hassard.

Thanks kingskerswell
That rules out the people I had hopes for
i will start looking again, all the births were listed as Downpatrick but the marriage may have been in The UK

Hi Shane I have looked at that Marriage before but the Name is wrong and Sarah's headstone lists her as Sarah Louisa Truesdale
I assume they were married as she is mentioned as his wife on their headstone. and both 1901 & 1911 census
