Tyer/Tyre/Tire - Dudley St Thomas
« on: Saturday 19 February 11 09:22 GMT (UK) »
My Gx4 Grandparents Thomas Tyer and Ann UNKNOWN were married around 1811, probably at Dudley St Thomas.  Their first child Mary was baptised there on 17th May 1812 - their two eldest children were baptised at Tipton St Martin.

Thomas died in 1816 in Tipton and Ann married John Fleet in 1818, again at Dudley St Thomas, which is why I think she might have been from there originally.

I would be grateful if anyone could have a look at the Dudley St Thomas marriage records around 1810/11 for Thomas / Ann marriage or any other Tyer / Tyer / Tire records

Thanks in anticipation

Stephanie

Hi Stephanie, not sure if you are still looking for someone to try and find this marriage - I am going to Dudley Records Office to look for a marriage of my ancestors so can have a look for yours at the same time.

Do you have any further information or are we still looking for Thomas (Tyer, Tire)
Lancashire: Croft, Hulston, Smith

I would be so grateful if you could look for both the marriage of Thomas Tyer / Tyre / Tire and Ann  - I don't have any further info - and the baptism of their eldest child Mary

thank you so  much

I checked Dudley St Thomas Marriage Records for 1811 but could not find it (then ran out of time) and also could not find reference for the baptism of Mary in 1812.

The records are split between Smethwick and Dudley - I am going to that area again on Wednesday and hoping to book readers for Wednesday and Thursday so I will keep your details and do further searches to see if I can find anything.

Good news and bad news.

Bad news - could not find a marriage for Thomas and Ann and have checked extensively through Dudley St Thomas. Could not see any records at Dudley Archives for other churches in Dudley for marriages around 1811.

Good news - did see a marriage between John Fleet Widower and Ann Tyer Widow on the 15th August 1818 at Dudley St Thomas. Geroge Fleet was a witness which probably does not help but at least it is information.

Sorry I could not be of more help - I know it is frustrating when you hit a brick wall!

Hi Stephanie,

All the Dudley, St Thomas records for 1794-1812 should be on www.FREEREG.org.uk

I think pretty much all the available information went into the transcriptions.

If you find anything there that you think may be of interest, PM me and I'll see if I can find any further information.
