Hi Eliza,

Welcome to Rootschat!  :)

If you 'Google' Shawpark Street, Maryhill, Glasgow (using the 'images' tab rather than 'web' tab), there's a couple of photos.

Alternatively, have a look at the 'Virual Mitchell' site: http://www.mitchelllibrary.org/virtualmitchell/index.php?a=district

This link should take you direct to the 'area' search. Choose Maryhill and there's loads of images of all around the area. I'm not sure whether Shawpark Street is there as I didn't look through all the pages.

Anne

Hi Anne, thank you.

I have actually seen all of the pics that Google has and the Mitchell have none of my street, but thanks again.

Eliza :)

Hi Harrywrag, thank you.

I actually live quite near my old street too. The pic on Scotlands Places I have actually viewed.
You said to go to scran site?

Many thanks for your time and help, to be honest I don't think I am ever going to find pictures of my old street as it was many years ago.

Hi Harrywrag, thanks again.

My old School was Shakespeare too and the close I lived in Shawpark Street is also where the Womens Centre is now.  I have been trawling the net for ages trying to find a pic of my street, but with no joy, wish I had taken some pics of it way back then, if only I had known it was going to be pulled down. That name Scott rings a bell, I was only 10 when we moved from the street to further down Maryhill but can still remember most of the people who lived there, good decent people.
