Great to hear family are fine.  Lucinda was called after her grandmother Lucinda Petrie b1816 she married George Wood and had a daughter Jane Wood. Jane Wood married James Crockett on 8/10/1863, and your Edward  who married Maggie Ann Stewart was one of the sons.  My grandfather Joseph born 1887 being the youngest son. Hope this a alittle bit clearer  I was actually up in Lossiemouth a couple of weeks ago and the house named Shamrock in Brander Street still retains the name but no longer belongs to any of the Crocketts.   P.S. A relative of Edward Crockett went to New Zealand early 1800's I think, i.e. Edward's gt. uncle James a brother of William Crocket who married Margaret Ralph.
Best wishes Joyce :)

Lucinda Petrie's maiden name was ? 1816.  Are you saying  that Lucinda P CROCKETT  m. [McKNIGHT] b.1913 was named after her grandmother Lucinda Petrie ..........b. 1816 who married George WOOD, but if their daughter Jane WOOD m. James CROCKETT  which  Edward is the son of James and Jane, so wouldn't that make  Lucinda Petrie 1816 being the great grandmother of Lucinda Petrie CROCKETT b.1913..  Sorry still trying to get my head around it all.

Sorry!!!
Cheers, Lorraine.

Edward Crockett  who married Margaret Ann Stewart was the son of James Crockett and Jane Wood they were married on 8th Oct 1863.  Jane was the daughter of Lucinda Petrie and George Wood, who married 12 Oct 1837.  James Crockett and Jane lived in Drainie Lossiemouth.
Jane came from Buckie not far from Lossiemouth, her mother Lucinda remarried  a George Thomson after Jane's father died. After George died she also went to live in Lossiemouth.
Edward had only one sister my gt. aunt Jane born in 1867.  Edward had 11 brothers three died in infancy.  Joseph his youngest brother born in 1887 was my grandfather.
I hope this makes it a bit clearer.  What is your relationship to Lucinda Petrie Crockett.
Best wishes

ps if you need further info I can supply it.

Hi Joyce,

Thank you so much, yes i've got it now and it sure is a lot clearer.

I'm helping a relation of mine doing her husband's family of McKnight, Crockett, Stewart, Clark & hopefully further back if i can, with a big help from you and the other listers.
John and Lucinda [Wendy] McKnight's son (*)[living] m. (*)[living] which i've followed back from her family; Harrington, Koina, Wright, Bird.
My relative has been stuck for some time and so wanting to find out more of these families so i offered to help her.

You wouldn't have any info of Margaret Ann Stewart m. Crockett, her parents christian names, also her mother's maiden name.

A big thank you.

Cheers, Lorraine.

Was Robert and George twins?.   Also do you happen to know when Edward's grt uncle James when he imigrated to NZ and what part of NZ he may of settled.  It would give me an idea where to look for deaths and what cemetery he may be in.  I wonder if he was single or married.  Gee if only all of the Crockett children had middle names given, if would make it a lot easier to find eh!.

Cheers. L

Benjamin b. 1877 and went ot South Africa as you stated, do you know what his wife's name is.  It mentions in the Train disaster that Janet had another sister, would you know her name.
Even though you've got the paper clippings of the train disaster but i'll post the link on here also.

Still can't seem to find Margaret A Stewart.  You'd think there would be a paper notice of her death - 1929 in Scotland somewhere.

Cheers.

Wondered if any one knows of about of a Mrs Titley, her maiden name was Crockett, she and her parents went to South Africa on holiday in 1960's to visit Crockett relatives.  Sorry I have very limited info. Her father would have been quite elderly at this time.

Have checked the Marriage CD that goes to 1956 and can't see a match for a Crockett/titley/tetley marriage

this person would likely be subject to privacy issues to work more on the forum

Because of the unusual name there are only a handful of possibilites
Do you have access to ancestry because you can see in the electoral rolls the few people of this surname from around the 1960s era
