Hi jrocket and Lu,

Am i the 'other nz Crockett searcher' that you are waiting for a reply.  Have replied to Lu about the marriage of Lucinda Crockett and John McKnight.  Sorry no i don't have their marriage cert, have given you the folio no. if you wish to get one from NZ.  However the reply is on the other thread that we've been having contact on.

Have been reading through both of your posts, i have nothing on on Lucinda Parents except her father's name;  Edward  and mother Margaret [Maggie] Ann Stewart married in 1895 Drainie/Moray.

jrocket & Lu.

Yes family is safe but daughter and grandkids still in Nelson which is a bonus for us as we get to see them a bit more, they're thinking they may go back in April sometime.

Now i'm getting a bit confused with names and dates.  See if i get this right.
I have Lucinda [Wendy]  CROCKETT m John McKNIGHT
her father Edward CROCKETT m Margaret [Maggie] Ann STEWART
--- what i don't have and trying to work out is;
the above Edward's father is Edward b..... m ............
his father James b..... m ........
and going back further maybe is some one Crockett married another Lucinda Petrie .............. for the younger Lucinda to get her name as some families followed down line.

jrocket could you able map it more clearly.

Headstone attachment of John and Lucinda McKNIGHT.

Thanks.

Hi Ismb

Glad to learn your family is safe and well.  :)   (Mine too are in ChCh ... it was such a very, very, long wait before we were able to establish contact.)

This link might help you sort out where your Lucinda fits in ?

Glad to hear you finally heard from your Chch family, pleased to know they are safe.  It's the not knowing which makes us worry.

Many thanks for the link, now just have to go through it to work it out.   Tried the Australian board but can't seem to find the thread or ''cando''.

Thanks.

Great to hear family are fine.  Lucinda was called after her grandmother Lucinda Petrie b1816 she married George Wood and had a daughter Jane Wood. Jane Wood married James Crockett on 8/10/1863, and your Edward  who married Maggie Ann Stewart was one of the sons.  My grandfather Joseph born 1887 being the youngest son. Hope this a alittle bit clearer  I was actually up in Lossiemouth a couple of weeks ago and the house named Shamrock in Brander Street still retains the name but no longer belongs to any of the Crocketts.   P.S. A relative of Edward Crockett went to New Zealand early 1800's I think, i.e. Edward's gt. uncle James a brother of William Crocket who married Margaret Ralph.
Best wishes Joyce :)
