Hi Jill

I found it on Ancestry. I was hoping there might be a little more info, not a lot to go on. I will see what I can dig up.

I wonder where he got his new name from?

Ian

Hi Jill
Just got a reply from this thread. I must apologize but I have forgotten to reply myself. I did take a look in the databases and the books in and around Gothenburg and found nothing really. Because there is too little info it won't be an easy task. A date of birth would help out a lot.
Sorry about that.

All the best Ian

Hello LookingforLars...

Welcome to Rootschat :)

To activate your PM system you need to have made three posts. So make two more posts. Smileys will do fine :)

Good luck with your search (although if Ian is having trouble it's looking a bit ominous :-)

Regards
Beg

So - I am a descendant from Lars / Lewis Edwards Second son - "John Lewis Edwards" (Donald Duff Edwards was the first).

I guess the next part of the puzzle to solve is his birth date - Referring to Larking crew manifest, it notes his age as 29 - hence the date of 1820 for his birth.

I am not sure it helps or misleads, but in my family circles his birthday was 1818 (nothing fixed just a oral date)

If you have any clues or if anything new comes up referring to his birth date or parish or any other Swedish info let me know as I can search here in Sweden.
