Hello again,

do you have any of the children's birth certificates to give Martha's maiden name?
I have looked for Moran variations marrying a Martha but nothing is showing. However, there may be mistranscriptions or similar and you may be able to trace a marriage through Martha's name.

Hi Heywood - no I dont have any birth certs at the moment but will get a copy of Winifred's.

Hi Heywood at last I have the birth cetificate of my Grandmother Winifred Moran who was born at 4 Garden Street Walsall on the 10th August 1882. Her Mothers maiden name is Martha Bradley.

It would appear that Tailoring ran in the Moran family. His wife Martha was also a Seamstress.
Any conncetions in Ireland or elsewhere would be helpful.

I am just looking over the thread again and I am sure I am wrong re the 1871 sighting of  Thomas. On that census, there is a Thomas M - visitor and a Catherine 'Gannow' visitor. There is a marriage for Thomas Moran and Kate Gannon in 1875 and they are in subsequent censuses. Apologies. 
In 1881, he is from Roscommon so it does give some indication of the difficult task you have.
That is, if he is the right one here also.

There is a possible marriage in 1874 for a Thomas Mourn and Betsy Bradley - Dudley registration district. Maybe worth following. I can't find the other couple to check who married who.
There could be some significance in that they called their first daughter Elizabeth. However, Bradley is also quite a common name - my own grandmother was Bradley from Dudley area.

Thanks for trying Heywood but as Martha was a bilston girl I would imagine the wedding would have come under Wolverhampton that is unless they married in Walsall.

Re info. from Tu2Tu, dated 31/3/11, in fact it is Ballinameen, this Moran family have families living in England & Ireland, they are my 2nd cousins, although that generation of today are in their 80's, my Dad's Aunt  married into the Moran Family, her son was Dad's 1st cousin, although there must have been appx. 25/30 yrs between them . I was in Ireland last week , passed the old house in Ballinameen, and it is still occupied. Kilbride of course is within 5/6 miles from Ballinameen, Boyle.
Might be of some use to you.
