No Carolyn, she is a Taurus, but not a typical one...if there is such a thing.

China thanks again. You mentioned the photographer was at 2 Devonshire Place until 1873, then moved to New Cross. I pinpoint the photo being taken in 1872, the year Annie emigrated to South Africa, having had the photo taken before she left...perhaps.

I googled Devonshire Place, its shows one in Leicester. Must be in London, yes?

I do have more photos, but have to check the dpi and back first.  :-\

Also, its taken in South Africa, will that be a problem? They seemed to be fairly well inline with English fashion at the time, but its a nice photo. Will get it ready to maybe post tomorrow. Great Stuff. Cheers Judi

1872, very nice :)

SA fashion, like most of the western world, was likely driven by London and Paris just as today....ladies' magazines brought the latest styles and local dressmakers made them up. Should be in about the same date range as the more prominent places.

Cheers,

Well, it was you really who did all the work to pinpoint 1872 of course. Well done you!  :D  You didn't say about Devonshire Place, sorry, just that it seems important, as it might have been on the way to the ship virtually.

I would reckon on that photographic company being all in London, would you guess?

Oh to be in England.......again........sigh.......

cheers jud

Carolyn, Carolyn.......( I must like that name, I called my middle daughter Carolyn... shes 40. She says no one is allowed to call call her 'Caroline,' which she hates, so sorry to any Carolines.....its her issue, not mine...)

I find this so funny and I can totally relate to your daughter, as I will not answer to Carolyn or Carol, not that their is anything wrong with the names, it's just they're not my name!  There was only one person that ever got away with calling me Carol and that was my Grandmother, bless her.  Funnily enough, I am also a Taurean, so it must be the stubburness in us!   ;D ;D

Anyway, out of boredom I had some fun with your photo!

Regards
Caroline  ;D ;D

Dear Cazz, that's what I call her too, and she does like it. Funny little chicken she is, doing naturapathy, reflexology and teaches yoga. Independent to a fault!!!  Love her lots for her individualism, skepticism and for being able to think out of the square.

Thank you so much for the photo of Annie. Love it :D

Thank you Cazz.
