Hi

I dont think the  council hold any records unless they are buried in a Municipal cemetery .... there are no Municipal cemeteries in the area you are talking about, so he would have either been buried in a churchyard or maybe outside the area if a municipal cemetery.  There has been a new road built in the area and apparently the church gravestones have been moved somewhere else, where I dont know sorry.... but there is another church that is still in the area their phone number is 01443 813246 - it maybe worth giving them a try - or alternatively you could try Glamorgan family history (if you are a member )

Good luck

Hi everyone
The certificate turned up on Saturday morning the GRO is getting very efficient ;D ;D.
The registration district is given as Merthyr Tydfil, sub district  MARWOLAETH yn-Is- ddosbarth Gelligaer.
I have pasted a portion of the certificate so that you can see the actual address. I would love some help with the local geography as to which would be the nearest church or municipal graveyard. Once I know this I will give them a ring on the phone numbers you have very kindly supplied.
Once again thank you all for your help. I can't wait to actually go and have a look for myself. I just hope there is a grave marker to see. It won't be the first time I've found the plot but the relatives have not been able to afford a tombstone :'(
