« on: Tuesday 15 February 11 14:50 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone know how to access the Marriage  Bonds pre 1722 for Amounderness ?.The Lancashire and Cheshire Records Society Volume 75 does the Marriage Bonds for 1722 onwards, but tthe previous Volume 74 excludes Amounderness and only does Lonsdale and more Northerly areas.

Any clues out there ?

Look on the Lancashire Record Office site. Go to record search, then on the left find Marriage Bonds which tells you what they have and how to access the index via the catalogue.

The Internet Archine (www.archive.org) has some of the earlier volumes in the series. Latest marriage licences at Chester (which includes some people further north) on there is for 1680-91.

It's worth a search for "Record Society for the Publication of Original Documents relating to Lancashire and Cheshire".

You can download most of them as searchable PDFs.
Looking at ALSTON in south Ribble area, ALSTEAD and DONBAVAND/DUNBABIN etc. everywhere, HOWCROFT and MARSH in Bolton and Westhoughton, PICKERING in the Whitehaven area.
