Can anyone help? I am trying to find out the date of birth of my gtgt grandmother Mary Marr Pickard and also would like to find out where she is buried.

There is a Mary Marr Pickard born abt 1876 in Durris Aberdeen

You don't say if that is her married or maiden name, this is an unmarried girl of 5

Thanks for the information. I think Pickard was her maiden name and I think she died around 1923 so this could be her..

Had a quick look I can't find a Mary M Duncan dying at the right date which matches her birth date. 
There are lots of Mary Duncans but without an approx place of death it's difficult to choose the right one

I can imagine it is a very common name. I know she died in Aberdeen if that is of any help. Can I ask where you get all this information? Is it something I could be checking out myself....

I'm using the death index on Ancestry but lots of it is on Free BMD for England and Wales

As the death was in Scotland it wont be on Free BMD.

Have you looked at Scotlandspeople.gov.uk? It has a free surname search
