Hi David

Innismore Terrace was in Crumlin Village itself. I'm familiar with the area you are talking about.
There were cottages in the village but I am not sure whether they were part of innismore terrace.

The innismore that exists today was built from land that originally belong to the old innismore terrace. In relation to Whitehall Road it is not too far from Crumlin Village, but there is a Whitehall Road West which is within walking distance of Innismore, Crumlin Village. There used to be cottages on Whitehall Road West and I think the last of them was demolished aprox 10 - 15 yrs ago. From my memories there used to be a cobbler/shoe repairer in one of the cottages. He was the last one in the cottages.

There a a few books on Crumlin village, one in particular Growing up in Crumlin Village, by Billy French
I think there is another book on crumlin but i will have to ask my dad.

David

Another site to check out is  http://eriu.homeip.net/crumlin/cgi-bin//pages.cgi?id=7

and another site which i have found very useful is http://www.dublin.ie/forums/

If you are doing a search on crumlin I would also google walkinstown, Dublin 12 as crumlin and walkinstown, i.e. you could be on one side of the street and its crumlin and the other side is walkinstown.

If you go out of town and come to Emmet Road in Inchicore, you come to a small hill that (used to be, not sure if still) called Spa Road.  This used to house the Vanhool Macardle Bus building depot.  If you go up that hill you come out on Vincent Street.  Right across from you is a complex of flats and they are called Tyrone Place.  There isn't a street or road called Tyrone Place, its the flats.  I know the flats were well established back in the 60's but don't know how long before that.  You may get a picture of them as they are on the road very close to Goldenbridge Convent of Mercy and the now infamous orphanage.  Hope this is of some help to you.

Also regarding "The Ranch".  Saw lots of pictures of there and of people named in them recently.  Trying to remember where but think it may have been on Flickr under the tag Inchicore.

Yeah that is exactly where Tyrone place used to be.  The actually estate is gone now and those flats were billt in its place.  My family lived there at the star of the 1900s when it looked more like this

I did not know that flats were called Tyrone place though, hopefully they have a road sign that I can photograph.

Thanks for the help
