HI
Have found a name on a headstone but can not find a death for this name. Maybe it is short for something, I just don't know what. Any ideas on what the first name CECY may be another name for? Death is in the early 1900's, Aberdeenshire.
Thanks, Szac

Hi
The name was Cecy Mitchell died Jan. 27, 1907, on a headstone in the Tough Kirkyard. I have looked on Scotlands People, and haven't had much luck.

Could be short or a derivative of Cecilia, or Cecily. Anyone have any other ideas based on old fashioned names?

I have often found it easiest to put in just the initial of the Christian name when searching. This is especially useful if you dont know whether a name has changed from e.g. Isobel, Isabel to Isabella, or if it is registered as Jane or Jean,Janet or Jessie..........
