1841/51 census Liverpool John Fannin
« on: Monday 18 April 05 14:29 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Is there a kind person out there who could help me find John Henry Fannin.  All I know is that he was born in Liverpool in 1840 or 41.  I've been unable to find his marriage cert. to Hannah Barnard or his birth cert.  So I don't know his fathers name.  I'm also wondering if his father came from Ireland, as there seems to be many Fannins in Lancs. from there.

Thanks in advance

Meredith :)

Hi Meredith

This Is the Only John Fannin i could Find On the 1851 Name Index For Liverpool

Census Ref  470a 2185/2

Matthew Fannin Shoemaker Born Ireland
Sarah Fannin                         Born Ireland
Alice Fannin  Theatre Proformer Born Liverpool
John Fannin                            Born Liverpool

The 1851 Name Index Does Not Give the Address or sometimes the Ages of People ..If You Post a New Thread Stating the Surname and Census Ref Number Someone who has the Full 1851 Census Will Be able to Give You the Full Details

Hope This Helps In Some Way

Hi Merideth,

I don't beleive the co-incidence!  We have just started tracing the Fannin family, and I yesterday discovered that John H Fannin born c1840 in Liverpool is my husband's Gt, Gt Gt, Grandfather. I have ordered a Death Transcript for John H Fannin in order to obtain more details. I read on your original message that Hannah's maiden name was Barnard. Thanks for that piece in information.
My husband in descended from John's son, Samuel bn 1874.
I hope you receive this message. Could you tell me where you have obtained your data?

Look forward to your response.

Lyn.

Hi Meridith,

Thanks for your email, but I am having problems sending my email back to you. It's come back 4 times.  It could be my computer or network.  I will keep trying.

Have a nice weekend, and I hope to get through soon.

Lyn.
