John Albert McNULTY death record missing

I am trying to find the death of John Albert McNulty. He died before 1970. I have searched the BMD's for NSW,Queensland and others with no success. His wfe Muriel Edith McNulty died 6 Jul 1970 and cremated at Rookwood.
Any help would be very much appreciated

John was born in 1908 in New Zealand and  died before his wife as I have her death certificate.
