Kensington Congregational Chapel (1859)
« on: Wednesday 09 February 11 05:41 GMT (UK) »
I am in the process of trying to get information (and pics where possible) of the churches my ancestors were married and baptized/christened in.
My great grandparents were married in Kensington in 1859. I'm sure the certificate says Kensington Chapel, Allen Street and at the bottom it says Congregational Denomination.
I've been trying to find this place (hoping it still stands as it was then) and I have found the Kensington United Reformed Church on Allen Street and was wondering if this is the same church.

Hi

The United Reformed Church (URC) was created when the Presbyterian Church of England and the Congregational Church in England and Wales united in 1972.

Thank you for those links Valda. There was certainly a bit more info than I expected (all very welcome though).
