Mary Ferguson's death..Help please
« on: Tuesday 08 February 11 19:40 GMT (UK) »
Could someone please look up info on the death (and any other info) of Mary Ferguson
From a census as a guestimate, Mary was born in 1811 in the Parish of Kincardine.
She married Peter Ferguson on  28th March 1852.
Peters death certificate on 28th May 1885 names Mary Ferguson as his wife so she was probably still alive on that date.

Oh and just one other thing. Peter married his  first wife Ann McNautghtan (my g g g grandmother) on 24th Nov 1824. Ann was born on 26th August 1807 but I don’t know who her parents were. Nor do I have a date of death for Ann. Sometime about 1845 I think.

All events would have taken place in the Parish of Kincardine.

Cheers.

Scotlands People is the only place you will find that info and it's a pay per view website

www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

Mary was still alive in 1891 but is not on the 1901 census

Hi Fergie

Is this your Mary Ferguson I'm afraid information is a bit scarce

I did a search on scotlandspeople using birth year of 1811 +/- 5 year and you get 1 hit for Kincardine

1 1892 FERGUSON MARY     F 82 KINCARDINE (PERTH) /PERTH 364/00 0010

Yours Aye

Thanks Bruce.
Yes that could be her.
I asked because I thought that the info might have been available on Ancestry.
I have a strange situation here where my g g g grandfather Peter could have been married to both my paternal and maternal g g g grandmothers.

Cheers.

Hi

Ancestry does not have Scottish BMD info unfortunately.  The Scottish census info is also only available in transcription form as Scotlands People hold the originals

Any info re: Scottish BMD's that cannot be found on the IGI you have to use SP on a pay per view basis

Hi Carole.
So Ancestry is no good for Scots research. And there was me thinking that it had everything.

Cheers.

Can I ask how you know Ann's dob?
The only person of her name I can find was born 9 Aug 1807  in Kenmore - father John, mother Elizabeth Macdonald.
I tried all possible spelling variants of the surname.
