if you can pin point 1861 and 1871 census it may say which county hes from not just ireland this is your only hope .
census information is Crown Copyright, from
www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

Hi Bill,
You might be interested to have a look at this site which shows William Flynn's Father
Thomas Flynn b. 1818 and married in Kilfinnane in 1834.
