Janet Beveridge and David Mure - marriage

Hi all,

I've hit a bit of a stumbling block and would be very glad of some help!

I'm trying to find the marriage of Janet Beveridge and David Mure, both of Dalgety, Fife.

IGI lists it as 1718 but I can't find it on Scotland's People.
IGI lists their children as Elisabath, David, Walter, Janet, Lilias, Agnes Margaret and in turn all of them have Janet Beveridge and David Mure as parents.

I've tried David Muir and David Mure and David M*r* married to Janet and used a range of 1710 - 1725 but the only thing that comes up doesn't seem to make any sense (David Murie married Janet Beveridge in 1724 in Burntisland, Fife).

This is all in an effort to find out who David's parents are, but baby steps first

That IGI marriage is a submitted entry so is only somebody else's "guesstimate" of the marriage year and venue.  Nothing has been verified as fact

Just to check - since the only marriage I can find between these two (or any two people named the same) is in 1724 on SP I can use that as verified fact and assume that the two eldest children are illegitimate? Or is there another way of checking?

There are more than 2 children born before that 1724 marriage if you do a parent search on the IGI (see below)

All are submitted entries but they do contain actual dates of birth or christenings (not guesstimates) which suggests that whoever else is researching this family has found the entries in the parish registers

Hi Mydgie,
                        If you trace back through this forum to March/ April you'll find plenty of Information re Beveridges and Muirs posted by an ex -Roots chatter called Tom McGregor. Hope this helps.
