Thank you so much for looking this up for me. This is certainly the right family and you have managed to find a few extra siblings for my GGgrandfather, John Richard Bennison, that I knew nothing about before as they sadly never got to figure on a census.
Most importantly however, you have managed to answer a riddle that I had not even realised was bothering me. Your identification of the death of Jane, aged 51 in 1869, was a real shock. I thought I had tracked Richard down living with his wife Jane for at least 20 years following this! On going back to look closely at the records to make sense of what you found - I realised my error.
Jane clearly had died between the 1861 and 1871 census. Trouble was that Richard had almost seamlessly married another Jane - and I simply had not realised.
It now makes sense and is quite obvious when I look back. The ages are different etc - only I never noticed it before - just assumed it was an error or a bit of vanity suddenly at work.....
Anyhow - many many thanks for helping me out before I went any further down a wrong track.
