Military photo is this Egypt???
« on: Sunday 06 February 11 10:38 GMT (UK) »
This photo was found amongst my Dads paperwork (Cpl William Stone) when he died and Im wondering if anyone knows where it was taken. He served with the Royal signals from abt 1956 until 1978. I know he was posted to Cyprus and also spent time in Egypt.
The photo has a distinctive picture in the background  and maybe someones recognises it. He rarely talked about his early days in the Army and I would love to know more.

Welcome to rootschat Carole.

I'm afraid you have not added the photo to your post.  ;)

Is that a turban on the man second on the left in the painting? It is quite distinctive, but looks quite weatherbeaten even then. As they have posed in front of it, it does make you wonder if it was some kind of 'landmark'. Very curious ... 20th Century Fox?  :-\

[BTW  They're all very good looking chaps.  ;)]
